How can I learn how to do SEO for others?

Sunday, August 8th, 2010

I am fairly intelligent, not by any means a natural at computers though. I am disabled and am looking for a job I can do at home on the computer (a Mac). How would I go about learning SEO so that I could be an individual provider of SEO services, are there classes for it, or online courses, and how hard/how long would it be to learn?

Hey,

I was in the same situation for you where I needed to learn SEO for one of my websites and one of the most helpful ways I found was to just to on youtube and view the tutorials by someone of the experts and ordinary people like us, I learnt quite a few good tips.

How do you get better SEO results for a site if you have already altered the title tags and images?

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

I am optimizing a site and have 5 keyword phrase i want to show up in Google. I have good Search Engine Optimization (SEO) results for 2 of the keywords. But I can’t figure out how to get the other 3 to become top result in Google. I have inserted the keywords in the title tags and image alt texts. Can anyone tell me what else I need to do.

There are many many factors when doing on-page optimization. BEFORE you begin link building (off-page optimization) you want to make sure that your on-page is top notch otherwise your skipping steps. You may want to create a webpage for each keyword. There is an amazing free tool you can use (link below) to find out how well your page is term targeted. I also put a link to a guide that covers all the basics!

How to determine the prices for SEO solutions?

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

How to decide upon the pricing policy? If some client approaches for getting SEO work done or wishes to get a website for his business, what are the standard rates?

Standard rates go anywhere from $45 - $100 / hour. However, before you hire an SEOer make sure you know the right questions to ask. I honestly would spend a few hours researching SEO just to make sure you can talk their language and ask the right questions.

These are the first things that I would do:

1.) Have them look at your site analytics to see if they can identify any low hanging fruit improvements you could make.

2.) Determine whether or not your website is structurally capable of becoming optimized? Do you have a programmer in-house? Who and how are you going to implement some of the suggestions from the SEOer?

When you finally choose an SEOer, before you let them loose have them devise a step by step plan of what they are going to do to optimize your site. Have them order each strategy/plan by priority and get an estimate for each step. Also, have them provide you with a list of action items that you can do internally. For example, one common SEO strategy is to submit your website to online directories. If that’s part of their plan then have them give you the list of directories so you can add your listing yourself. (DMOZ, Google Places, Yahoo Directory, Yellowpages, CitySearch, etc)

I hope that helps :)

How to do SEO Optimization a Website for English, Dutch, and French?

Monday, July 26th, 2010

I would want to do SEO optimization some websites for those specific languages. Is creating each language corresponding pages a good way? How does Google rank those websites for those languages?

Is creating each language corresponding pages a good way?
YES - if your targeted keywords are also in their local language: English, Dutch and French
NO - if you meant you ONLY wanted to be on top of SERPS for Google’s pages in .fr, .com. .co.uk and .nl BUT the content or targeted keywords are still in English

How does Google rank those websites for those languages?
When creating domains for each website, use a local server for your targeted country. Submit links to local directories, local blogs, linking to local websites.
Based on my experience, when your website starts to get indexed and rank on the first 100, you can apply the usual and proven SEO strategy you know.

What are the possibilities of being a SEO.What are the different stages of SEO jobs?

Sunday, July 11th, 2010

What are the possibilities of being a SEO.After being a search engine optimizer what are the different stages of Search engine optimizer.

Well, I run a small SEO company and there are two ways companies generally go about it. The first way, they hire a few people who specialize in particular areas. For instance, they would hire a keyword analyst, article writer, link-submitter, video marketer, social media-er etc. While other companies train SEO’s from A-Z, for every component involved. Keep in mind though, there is a stack of info out there and only so many brain cells per person ;)

What is the cheapest and best seo company?

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

I`m confused on this issue there are so many, and they charge up the yang-tang for organic SEO?
unknown,might as well continue DIY.

Carly has the best answer. Google (or Yahoo! or Bing) the phrase "<my city name> internet marketing" or "<my city name> seo".

Don’t click on the sponsored ads, click on the organic results.

Don’t use the company website’s contact form, call the phone number.

Ask for a client list and for the clients’ contact information.

Good luck.

SEO question. How can you find out and see the progress of your website from certain keywords’ aspects?

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

SEO question. How can you find out and see the progress of your website from certain keywords’ aspects?
I am trying to see if there is a tool that allows me to check my website ranking based on certain keyword searches. So for example I want to find out that when somebody types in "cars" in google search, after how many other websites mine will show up?
I hope my question is clear.

Thanks

The best solution is using RANK CHECKER. It is a tool provided by SEO BOOK: http://tools.seobook.com/

Again, look for Rank Checker. It is the best keyword rank tool I have seen so far and is used by top SEO companies across the nation.

What are the best SEO Plug-ins to use and what ones should I stay away from?

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

I am looking for different SEO options and I have seen a lot of "SEO Plug-ins" for wordpress and such but there are so many to chose from I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with any of these?

if you must use a plugin, you can use "all in one" pluin for wordpress. but 2 important optimization you need to do, you can do it yourself in less than 2 minutes.

one is to change your site title and you can do that by going to setting within your admin panel. another one is changing yout permalink to custom permalink that is also under settings. on custom permalink section, you use %postname% that will get rid of ?p=21 type of URL and convert it to your URL/post tile which is better in terms of SEO. rest of the optimization you need is your content
